Somebody's
garbage is another's treasure...
The story behind the 500+ photos is extremely amazing. The photos and Stan's styling book were found kept clean in a storage container(s), inside a old steamer trunk, at a New York garbage dump. There are about 80 different models, some photos dating back to c1945

Hi - I just came across your web site and thought I'd drop you a line. Stan Shuttleworth was my father. Unfortunately, when he passed away my mother and my youngest brother got rid (aka threw away) all of his remaining photos and the negatives.
It is amazing and wonderful to see that so many people still appreciate my dad's long hair photos!
If you have or have seen any of his movies, you have probably seen me.... not to mention my brothers, husband and children. (smile) We always helped my dad on filming day and usually portrayed "crowds" in support of Mary, Yolanda and the others who starred in the movies.
My
dad had two long-time customers (that I
remember) in the New York area. Maybe the
trunk belonged to one of them? Just as a
side note, another of his
customers/correspondents was the Baron of Malta.
I used to love it when his envelopes arrived
because of the stamps! ;-) |
