Founder of House of David ~ Benjamin & Mary

Benjamin Franklin Purnell, "King Ben", along with his wife Mary founded the religious commune Israelite House of David that attracted followers from around the world. He also founded and produced the well known traveling H of D baseball team. He was born March 27, 1861 in Lewis County, Kentucky and died in Benton Harbor, Michigan in December of 1927.
